Affiliate links
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, SpoilWell may earn a commission. The price you pay is the same either way.
Affiliate links appear mainly in packing lists and gear recommendations. Every product recommended in those sections is something the writer actually used or would actually bring — not a list assembled from whatever pays best. A commission is never the reason an item appears on a list, and no brand pays to be included.
Every article containing affiliate links says so at the top of that article, before the first link.
How stays, meals, and products are paid for
Every review states at the top how the visit or product was paid for. There are three possibilities:
- Paid in full — booked at public rates like any other guest. This is the default.
- Hosted or provided — a stay, meal, flight, or product given free or at a reduced rate. Stated plainly at the top of the review, along with what it would have cost at public rates and, for products, whether the item was kept or returned.
- Sponsored — content a brand paid to appear. Labeled as sponsored at the top.
Disclosure appears at the top of the piece, in plain language, regardless of whether the arrangement affected the verdict. It is never buried in a footer or softened into ambiguity.
What access never buys
SpoilWell does not agree to positive coverage, pre-publication review, copy approval, or the removal of criticism as a condition of a stay, meal, flight, or product. No sponsor or host sees a review before it publishes or has any say over the verdict.
Sponsored content is never a review of a property, restaurant, flight, or product. A brand cannot buy a review here.
Prices and information
Rates quoted are what was paid — or what the visit would have cost at public rates — at the time stated, and the visit date appears on every review. Prices change. Always confirm current rates and inclusions directly with the property before booking.
